When do you have to remove your political yard signs? - Complete list broken down by town

(18 NEWS) - Election season has ended, and political yard signs should soon begin disappearing with it.

Regulations for when residents and business owners must remove their campaign signs differ by town. Some depend on when the sign was originally posted. 

The following is a complete list of those regulations, according to the Chemung County Board of Elections.

Number of days after Election Day before signs must be removed:

City of Elmira: Signs should not be up for a period exceeding 30 consecutive days

Town of Elmira: Signs must be removed within 1 week of the election

Town of Ashland: does not specify

Town of Baldwin: Signs must be removed within 10 days after the election

Town of Big Flats: Signs allowed for maximum of 90 consecutive days

Town of Chemung: Signs must be removed within 5 days after the election

Town of Erin: Signs must be removed within 1 week after the election

Town of Horseheads: Does not specify

Town of Southport: Signs must be removed within 2 days after the election

Town of Van Etten: Does not specify

Town of Veteran: Signs must be removed within 10 days after the election

Village of Elmira Heights: Signs must be removed within 1 week after the election

Village of Horseheads: Signs must be removed immediately following the election

Village of Van Etten: Signs must be removed within 2 weeks after the election

Village of Wellsburg: Signs must be removed within 10 days after the election
