Woman assaulted on Easter morning, police now looking for suspect

ITHACA, N.Y. (18 NEWS) - Ithaca Police are now looking for a suspect after a robbery.

Police say at around 7:45 this morning, a black male between 5-foot-6, and 5-foot-8 inches attempted to steal a 71-year-old woman's purse, knocking her to the ground.

Police add the woman was on her way to church when the man attempted to rob her purse. It happened In the 600 block of West Seneca Street.

He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The victim was not injured.
