(NBC NEWS) - Upset about how much of your data Facebook has? Wait until you see what Google has got on you.
Dylan Curran, an IT consultant, wanted to know what kind of information Google had collected about him. Even with his experience in web development, what he found was shocking.
"I was really like, 'oh, my God. This is preposterous,'" Curran said.
Curran found, when he requested his data from Google, that some of the information being collected included tracking his location in the background, travel time between destinations, his hobbies and interests, data on his apps and records of deleted files; even his weight and income.
While he said he didn't believe Google's intentions were malicious, it still created a new discomfort with the knowledge of just how much information Google had.
"It's wrong to trust any entity that big with so much information," he said. "They're just trying to make money," and that, at some point, "someone is going to make a mistake."
He took to Twitter with his findings and the thread of tweets reached almost 150,000 retweets.
