On this edition, we travel back to 1983. The Erie Bell. Known widely as the biggest rival football game in the region between Elmira Free Academy and Elmira Southside. That year, the Hornets earned their first victory in the series since 1975, beating the Blue Devils 13-6, before a full house crowd at historic Dunn Field.

EFA was led by future Horseheads varsity baseball coach and Boston Red Sox minor league player, Jeff Limoncelli. Fellow ace back, John Garvin, scored a long touchdown in the game for the Blue Devils. Future Penn State football All-American and Buffalo Bills draft pick, Pete Curkendall, scored on a fumble return for a touchdown in the game that gave the Hornets the win.
