UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; September 11, 2017 – Penn State running back Saquon Barkley (Coplay, Pa.) added to his growing list of accolades for the 2017 season after being named to the Paul Hornung Award Week 2 Honor Roll. Barkley was one of five players honored by the Hornung Award, which is given to the most versatile player in major college football.
Barkley accounted for 183 all-purpose yards in the 33-14 win over the Panthers. He rushed 14 times for 88 yards and a touchdown to go along with four receptions for 45 yards and a score. Additionally, Barkley returned a pair of kicks for 50 yards. Last week, Barkley was the Big Ten co-Offensive Player of the Week and the Rose Bowl Big Ten Player of the Week after a stellar performance against Akron to open the season.
The fifth-ranked Nittany Lions host Georgia State for the first time Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network as the finale of a three-game non-conference home stand to open the season.
