A big time baseball name and personality is coming to Hornell in April.
Lou Piniella, a longtime manager and player in Major League Baseball (MLB), is confirmed to attend the 46th Annual Hornell Sports Night on Saturday night April 27th. Piniella is a three-time manager of the year and a three-time World Series Champion. Known for his colorful antics on and off the field, Piniella will bring his stories to Hornell to honor the best in local sports.
Piniella was inducted into the Seattle Mariners Hall of Fame and played for the Yankees from 1974-84. “Sweet Lou” even played one minor league season for the Elmira Pioneers in 1965 before winning the American League Rookie of The Year in 1969 with the Kansas City Royals.
