Bills grind out a win when they needed it most

It wasn’t pretty but there are no style points in the NFL.

A win is a win.

It felt like a football game back in the 1940s. When teams were still trying to master the forward the pass.

Josh Allen and the Bills completed just 10 passes for 82 yards but it was enough.

While a 2-3 record may not sound impressive a loss would have been crippling. Over last 40 years only a dozen teams to start the season 1-4 have gone on to make the playoffs

“We knew this was a huge game for us. We knew we had to come in here and play focused and play with juice. That’s what we did today,” said Jordan Poyer.

“Now that we can see that we can beat a team, a tough team that comes in here, we have to ride off this and keep pushing,” added Kelvin Benjamin.

Buffalo gained 144 yards on the ground. Most of that coming after contact thanks to Chris Ivory.

“You see guys getting fired up on the sideline watching Chris and Shady run and being physical and knowing what time it was in the game,” said Kyle Williams. “Getting those first downs and making them burn their timeouts and win the way we did, it was fun to watch.”

“We were able to make them kick field goals today instead of 28 points they had 12 points and that’s the big difference,” smiled Lorenzo Alexander. “We found a way to do that. Knocking the ball down. Sniffing out a screen. Earlier in the year they were making those plays and we weren’t.”

The next step for the Bills after getting a big victory. Getting another one.

“We had to get a win. Any time you find a way to win at home, especially at home, definitely boosts your confidence. Now we have to deal with success, last time we didn’t. Gotta figure out a way to stack some wins, putting together, and start creating a streak here,” added Alexander.

Stephen Hausckha was honest in the locker room when talking about his game winning field goal. “It wasn’t the best kick of my life,” said Hauschka.

Off his foot the ball start out wide right and some Titan players even started to celebrate.

When asked if he saw that Hauschka said, “Oh yeah, they didn’t know that thing was coming back.” Laughing he added, “I knew it was coming back”
