A New York baseball fan favorite is coming to Elmira in April.
Bobby Valentine, the manager of the New York Mets in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, will be the special guest of honor at the 5th Annual Elmira Pioneers Hot Stove Dinner on Thursday, April 25th. The event will be held once again at the Elmira Holiday Inn Riverview.
Valentine guided the New York Mets to the 2000 Subway Series against the Yankees and also managed the Boston Red Sox in 2012. A former player on the field, Valentine played ten years in the majors before getting his first managerial job with the Texas Rangers from 1985 until 1992.
Valentine managed and coached some of the best players to ever play the game including Baseball Hall of Famers, Mike Piazza, Nolan Ryan and many more. Don’t miss this special opportunity to meet one of the game’s all-time greatest personalities. Tickets for the Hot Stove Dinner or the VIP Meet and Greet can be purchased by contacting the Elmira Pioneers front office at 607-734-7825.
