Corning boys lacrosse cruises past Vestal

The Corning boys lacrosse team earned its first win of the season.

After coming off a tough loss to Geneva, the Hawks rolled past Vestal on the road 17-8. Quinn Bowler scored a game-high five goals, Collin Neally scored four goals and added one assist for Corning (1-1). Teammate Brendan Hogue scored three goals and notched two assists in the winning effort for the Hawks.

The boys program wasn’t the only team from the Crystal City to earn a victory on Thursday, the Corning girls rolled through Owego, 16-3. Ashlee Volpe, Kenna Newman, and Riley Davis all scored three goals each for the Hawks in their season-opener.
