Redemption is a word that Edison softball has used all season long.
The Spartans would love nothing more than to erase last year’s regional loss in the Class C tournament, a loss that drove them to great heights this year. Edison will play in the New York State Class C Final Four Saturday at 1:30 PM against Section X’s St. Lawrence (18-1) in South Glens Falls.
With a win, Edison (20-3), ranked third in the state in Class C, will advance to the state title game later in the day at the same venue, Moreau Recreational Park. On the strength of strong pitching and sound hitting, Edison has put together one its best seasons in school history.
Edison will look to secure their first state title since 2014, the school’s only other state crown was back in 1991.
The team departs for the tournament Friday morning and will get the opportunity to familiarize more with the field and surroundings of the entire state title weekend. 18 Sports speaks with the Spartans as they embark on making school history, one game at a time, with redemption on their minds.
