Elmira College splits doubleheader with Alfred U.


The Elmira College softball team split a doubleheader against Alfred University on Sunday at Eldridge Park Stadium in Elmira.

The Saxons won game one 5-2.

Jillian Murray went 3-for-4, scored two runs, and had an RBI for Alfred.

Elmira College won game two 5-4.

Sam Chadbourne hit a walk-off double to right field in the bottom of the seventh inning for the Soaring Eagles to drive in Sarah Garner for the win.

Chadbourne went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Thomas A. Edison grad Mckenzie Slaven went the distance on the mound to earn the win for the Soaring Eagles.

Elmira College (9-9) hosts a doubleheader against Stevens Tech on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.

Alfred University (13-13) hosts a doubleheader against Oswego State on Wednesday starting at 3:30 p.m.
