Elmira Express Clay Busters finish state tournament with a bang

The Elmira Express Clay Target League made their inaugural performance in the New York State High School Clay Target League tournament.

The Express Clay Busters finished 33rd out of 66 qualifying teams in the state-wide competition.

While Elmira did not qualify for the Skeet category, Luke Stoner took High Gun Overall and finished first in the state Varsity Division with a score of 87.

Team member Alex McKerrow tied for fourth in the JV division with a score of 88/100. Fellow JV teammates Logal McKerrow tied for 32nd, Cole Beach tied for 43rd, and Zach Ringer tied fir 217th.

Varsity shooter Dylan Voorhees finished tied for 73rd in the state with a score of 88.

In the Novice Division, Declan Sherwood finished tied for ninth in the State with a score of 76. Also in the Novice Division, Matt Sherwood tied for 40th with a score of 6, and Cameron Sherwood finished tied for 102nd with a score of 48.

Adam Rosekrans and Brandon Wood finished fourth and fifth respectively in the JV Division.

Colby Moretz finished fourth in the Novice Division with a score of 48.
