Carpenter, a former pro player in the World Football League and standout at The University of South Carolina, coached for decades at Elmira Free Academy alongside the late-great, Dick Senko. A man who knows how to motivate and inspire, Carpenter took a few moments of his time to discuss the pandemic with 18 Sports.

Carpenter, who still sits at third all-time in single-season tackles in South Carolina with 165, has endured many moments on the gridiron. In his own words, Carpenter provides motivational words for those looking to get through this tough time.
