The Elmira Enforcers dropped a tough loss but it’s a defeat that they will gladly accept.
Elmira fell to the New York City Police hockey team, 4-2, at First Arena on Wednesday night. The game was a special fundraising event for those who serve and protect the Twin Tiers and beyond. Enforcers owner Robbie Nichols started the scoring on the night in a memorable goal that brought the crowd to their feet.
After the Enforcers made it 2-0 later in the first period, the NYPD scored four consecutive goals to take the win.
The Enforcers return home on Friday night when the Mentor Ice Breakers come to First Arena at 7:05 p.m. Elmira has won a franchise-record seven straight games and look to keep their streak alive this weekend. Mentor will also play Elmira at First Arena to finish a two-game set at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday.
