Four Elmira Pioneers heading to All-Star game


ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – The Elmira Pioneers will be well represented in the PGCBL All-Star Game.

Four Pioneers are going to the Perfect Game Collegiate All-Star Game in Saugerties next Tuesday, July 16th.

Noah Rubino will get the start on the mound for the West division, while infielders Preston Moore and Mason Ruhlman will be reserve players. Fellow pitcher Nathan Berg will come out of the bullpen for the All-Stars as well.

Rubino, a sophomore at Siena College, is (2-1) on the summer season with 31 strikeouts in 31 innings of work. Samford University sophomore, Moore, is batting a team-high .368 at the plate with 32 hits and 18 RBI. Ruhlman has a team-high two home runs to go along with 12 RBI out of Minnesota-Crookston.

Berg, a soon to be sophomore at Xavier University, is (1-0) with a staggering .090 ERA out of the bullpen for the Pioneers this summer.

The Elmira pioneers are on the road tonight at the pilots of Newark, 18 Sports will have an update on that game tonight at 11.
