Historic Season Ends for Alfred University in NCAA Quarterfinals to Mount Union 70-45

The Alfred University football team saw it’s historic season come to an end in the NCAA quarterfinals with a 70-45 loss to Mount Union.

The Purple Raiders jumped out to a 35-13 lead in the second quarter.

The Saxons rallied back to cut the lead to 35-33 on a one yard touchdown run by Tyler Johnson.

Johnson threw for a school-record 534 yards and tossed five touchdowns for the Saxons.

B.J. Mitchell ran for 123 yards and three touchdowns for the Purple Raiders.

The Saxons finish the season at 12-1, with the 12 wins being a school record.
