A Section V football standout is heading to The Big 10.

Hornell prospect, Rayyan Buell, has officially committed to play major college football at Rutgers University for the Scarlet Knights. Buell was the Section V defensive player of the year last year and was receiving big looks from several programs including Boston College in the ACC.

Listed at 6-2 and 280-pounds, Buell brings a unique blend of speed and power on defense. His tenacity off of the snap and closeout quickness makes him one of the best Twin Tiers football players in recent memory at linebacker and defensive tackle.

Buell was nominated for the 18 Sports Fall MVP after helping the Red Raiders continue their defenisve dominance on the front line. On Thursday, Buell announced his commitment via his official Twitter account. Check out the full message below from Buell and follow 18 Sports for more news on Buell as it develops.
