It was a day to remember for Elmira Notre Dame standout Laurel Vargas.
One of the most accomplished girls soccer players in school history, Vargas signed her national letter of intent to play D-I at Xavier University in Ohio. Vargas is the first player in Elmira Notre Dame’s program to be named to the all-state team a record five times.
Vargas racked up a special senior season for the Crusaders, eclipsing 100 career goals and she finished second all-time in school history with 121 goals. On Tuesday, Vargas made it official and signed to the next level.
