It’s time for the next edition of 18 Sports Flashback.
On this edition, we go back to the year 1985. In October of that year. Watkins Glen International announced that they would bring back the NASCAR circuit after a 31-year absence. The Bud at The Glen returned in August of 1986, when Tim Richmond took home the checkered flag.
Chemung native Geoff Bodine helped usher in the return of NASCAR at the press conference at Watkins Glen in 1986. Boding would eventually win at The Glen in 1996. 18 Sports takes you back in time for this monumental occasion.
