Bradford Softball Falls in State Finals to Deposit

The Bradford Braves softball team lost to defending state champs Deposit 13-0 in the Class D state championship game on Saturday in South Glens Falls.

Megan Faulkner hit a three-run home run for the Lumberjacks in the first inning to give Deposit a 3-0 lead.

Bradford defeated Fort Ann 3-2 in the Class D state semifinals.

Bradford stormed out to a 3-0 lead before Fort Ann scored two runs in the sixth inning cutting the deficit to one. Fort Ann then had runners on first and second in the final inning with two outs, but Bradford fought off the potential rally.

Reaching the state finals is the best finish for the Braves in program history. 

The Braves end their historic season with a record of 19-5.
