In 2010, Cornell men’s basketball stood on top of the world. The Big Red made the Sweet 16 and repeated as IVY League Champs. In 2016, they have a new coach leading the new era.
Brian Earl takes over in his first season at the helm for The Big Red. Earl, a longtime assistant at Princeton, replaces Bill Courtney who was let go after last season’s (10-18) finish. Now with a new identity, Cornell is looking to get back to prominence this season.
Cornell opens up at Binghamton University November 11th at 7 P.M. The Big Red also has plenty of top-tier teams on this year’s schedule. Their annual date with Syracuse is December 27th, which follows a big holiday tournament in the Las Vegas Invitational.
18 Sports spoke with Earl about what he expects from the team in the early stages of practice and beyond. For a complete schedule for the Cornell men’s basketball team click on this link: http://cornellbigred.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=1049&path=mbball
