Corning Falls in Hopkins’ Debut

Longtime area High School basketball coach Bill Hopkins made his debut with the Corning Hawks on Tuesday in Corning.

The Hawks lost to Northstar Christian out of the Rochester area in their home opener 85-62.

The Knights led at halftime 41-23.

Division I prospect and senior guard for the Knights Miles Brown scored a game-high 38 points for Northstar Christian.

Jordan Haggard scored a team-high 24 points for Corning.

Hopkins made his debut with the Hawks after spending the past ten years as the head coach at Elmira Notre Dame High School.

Hopkins also previously coached in the Crystal City at Corning East High School.
