Corning’s Lindsey Butler continues to write history for the Hawks.
Butler captured her second state title this year on Friday at the New York State track and field championships at Middletown high school. After winning an indoor track title this past year, Butler ran to the 800-meter-dash title Friday, besting her time by nearly four seconds from the previous season.
With a time of 2:06:88, Butler cruised past the other runners in the dash and won the state championship by over a full second. Butler finished in second place in the state in last year’s 800-meter race.
