Elmira Express sign three to collegiate level

Local Sports

It was a day that three Elmira Express standouts and their families will never forget.

On Thursday, before a nice crowd at the Elmira high school gymnasium, three student-athletes made their college plans official. All-league and honorable mention state soccer pick, Luke Baldwin, signed his letter of intent to play at Le Moyne College in Syracuse. Baldwin has been a consistent captain and leader of the Express and is thrilled to take his talents to the next big stage.

Loni Harris, who will be recovering from an ACL injury, will compete for Hartwick women’s soccer next year. Harris states that the style of play fits her well, a style that’s very similar to that of the Express on the field.

Plus, Alexa Wagner will compete in track & field for Misericordia University. All three have made a lasting impact on their respective programs and each will bring their talents to a new level starting in the fall.

18 Sports brings you to the signing at Elmira and gets each student-athletes perspective as they start the next chapter in their careers.
