Elmira Pioneers Sign Three From UConn

Pios thrilled for new players this summer

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - The Elmira Pioneers made a major signing announcement on Thursday. 

Coming to Dunn Field this summer will be three from the D-I UConn Huskies, including a returning PGCBL All-Star. 

Anthony Nucerino comes back to Elmira after an All-Star season and will again play outfield for Elmira. Plus, he hit .270 with 17 RBI’s in just 24 games before his season was cut short with a torn UCL on July 15th. 

Nate Panzer is a 5”11” 192 pound sophomore outfielder from Westport, Connecticut.. Panzer was ranked the #1 outfielder in the state of Connecticut for the 2015 and 2016 years by Perfect Game..

Angus Mayock is a 6’5”, 215-pound, freshman, right handed pitcher from Berwyn, PA. He was a 2017 Rawlings Perfect Game All American honorable mention selection.

The Elmira Pioneers open up the PGCBL season on Friday, June 1st when Newark comes to Dunn Field. There will be fireworks after the game and the night marks free batting helmets courtesy of Silverline Construction.
