Fast Start Leads Horseheads Past Elmira

The Blue Raiders defeat the Express 14-2

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - The Horseheads Blue Raiders baseball team scored five runs in the first inning on their way to a 14-2 win against Elmira on Tuesday.

Tony Burlingame hit a leadoff home run to right field to give the Blue Raiders an early 1-0 lead.

Henry Juan hit an RBI single to the left side, Michael Limoncelli hit a two-run double to left, and Adam Cook added an RBI single to left to put Horseheads up 5-0 in the first inning.

The game was played under the lights at Elmira High School.

Earlier on Tuesday, Horseheads defeated Ithaca 4-1 and Elmira picked up a 8-7 win against Owego.
