Faunce earns 400th career softball win at EC

Elmira College softball head coach Rhonda Faunce earned her 400th career softball win on Sunday as the Soaring Eagles swept a doubleheader on the road against The Sage Colleges.

Faunce, who began her coaching career in 1989, is Elmira’s all-time wins leader in both softball and women’s volleyball.  

Elmira college won game one 7-3.

Edison grad Mckenzie Slaven picked up the win to improve to 5-4 this season and had eight strikeouts.

Slaven registered her 100th career strikeout in the win.

Sam Chadbourne hit her fourth home run of the season for Elmira College.

Elmira College won game two 12-4.

Samantha Jenkins and Maddy Johnson each hit home runs for the Soaring Eagles.

Elmira College (9-9) is on the road against Alfred State in a doubleheader on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
