ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - One Elmira Pioneer might have the secret weapon to get the team back to their winning ways. 

Canadian third baseman, William Perrin, brings a new international flavor to the team and is already enjoying his time in Elmira. Perrin hopes that he can provide a much needed boost, some pure maple syrup from Canada for the players to eat.

In more major news from Wednesday, three former Elmira Pioneers were selected in the MLB Amateur Draft. A full list of Pioneers selected thus far is below, which continues the strong lineage of players moving on to the next level who've played in Elmira. 

Justin Lewis - Kentucky Wildcats pitcher, 12th round 369th overall pick Arizona Diamondbacks
Troy Squires - Kentucky Wildcats catcher, 23rd round 686th overall pick Toronto Blue Jays
Troy Dixon - Samford University OF, 24th round 719th overall pick Texas Rangers

Two more Elmira Pioneers were selected in the later rounds: 
Connor Grammes - Xavier University pitcher, 35th round 1,045th overall pick Baltimore Orioles
Parker Caracci - Ole Miss pitcher, 37th round 1,106 overall pick Toronto Blue Jays
