33 years of greatness, that’s the story of Mansfield’s Harry Hillson.
On Friday, the longtime leader of Mansfield University baseball announced that he would retire after three decades plus leading the program. All he did was put Mansfield baseball on the map.
In all, Hillson won 892 career games, the most in program history. Hillson guided the Mounties to nine PSAC Eastern Conference titles, five PSAC championships, four NCAA Regional crowns, and two NCAA College World Series appearances.
Hillson also produced several professional players including many Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft picks.
His legacy, unforgettable. And, it’s what he did off the field that’s perhaps as memorable. Hillson brought the Mansfield community together through various fundraisers, baseball camps, charity work and more.
