Dylan Manwaring, one of Horseheads and the area’s top baseball talents, will see plenty of change in his game and future.
Manwaring, a former 9th round draft choice of the Atlanta Braves in 2013, is changing teams and his position.
A converted pitcher and third baseman, Manwaring will now play behind the plate as a catcher. Now, it’s not with the Braves farm system, but with the San Francisco Giants.
His father, Kirt, is a former MLB Gold Glover with the San Francisco Giants in 1993 and played nearly two decades in the big leagues. Dylan was recently released by the Braves organization and signed with the Giants.
Dylan is currently out in Scottsdale, Arizona learning his new position and hoping to be placed in the farm system within the next few weeks or months. Manwaring weighs in on the next step of his career with 18 Sports.
