The IndyCar series, one of the most iconic of all racing styles, will return to Watkins Glen International Labor Day weekend.

The one-year deal was finalized Friday afternoon in Indianapolis with Watkins Glen International. After this year’s race weekend, slated for September 1st through the 4th, IndyCar and Watkins Glen will reasses the race’s future at the track. This marks the first IndyCar race since 2010 at Watkins Glen.

The announcement comes just days after IndyCar announced it needed to fill their schedule on Labor Day weekend after Boston was canceled due to local authority approval. Although, with just months to prepare, Watkins Glen is sure to be the perfect replacement now and for the future.
