Joe Gilbert to Coach in Arizona

Horseheads native heading back to college game

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - Horseheads native Joe Gilbert has his next coaching position.

After spending the last six seasons with the Indianapolis Colts as an offensive line coach and assistant offensive line coach, Gilbert is reportedly heading back to the college game. Jason Scheer of WildCatAuthority.com reports that Gilbert will be the new offensive line coach of the D-I Arizona Wildcats.

This is familiar territory for Gilbert, who has over 30 years of coaching experience, mostly in college football. Gilbert previously had interviews with the Cincinnati Bengals, and was a top candidate for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Gilbert began his career in 1987 at SUNY Albany and has since spent time all over the country with stops at nine different colleges and universities. Coach Gilbert was just inducted into the Chemung County Sports Hall of Fame last month and he was the guest of honor at the first ever Twin Tiers Sports Awards last June.
