A local baseball icon is coming back to Corning to inspire the next generation.
Corning native, Dave Clark, the first pro baseball player ever to compete with polio, will be a special guest speaker at several area schools later this month. Clark, who’s instrumental in helping build the acclaimed Disability, Dream and Do Camps, provides several athletes with the opportunity to learn and play the game.
Clark will touch on a new children’s book, called “A Pound of Kindness,” a story about Dave’s youth and how a childhood friend helped him battle through his condition. Plus, Clark will tell stories about his ability to overcome the odds and inspire thousands along the way. Below, is a full list of speakings Clark will be attending.
