HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - A big setback has hit Horseheads special needs skier Logan Knowles.
Earlier this month, Knowles was invited to serve as an ambassador for Team USA in the Paralympic Games in South Korea in March. Knowles was one of just 12 athletes in the country to receive the honor, an honor to help spread awareness and knowledge of special needs athletics in foreign countries.
Unfortunately, Knowles suffered a big setback last week. While skiing at Greek Peak, Knowles suffered a broken leg and will be out for six months to recover. Now, Knowles will not be able to attend the Paralympic Games in South Korea. 18 Sports heard from Knowles today and he is in bright spirits moving forward and has his sights on the 2022 games in Beijing.
Born with cerebral palsy, Knowles was told he would never walk. Not only did he walk, Knowles earned a gold medal in special needs skiing-proving that nothing is impossible.
All of us at WETM-TV Sports wish Logan well on the road to recovery.
