The eighth-seeded Loyola (MD) men’s lacrosse team rallied past Syracuse for a 15-13 win at home in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.
The Greyhounds went on a 7-0 run in the second half to take a 15-12 lead in the fourth quarter.
Corning grad Aidan Olmstead had two goals and two assists for Loyola.
Loyola’s Pat Spencer had three goals and six assists to become the NCAA’s all-time leader in assists with 226.
Nate Solomon had two goals and two assists for Syracuse (9-5).
Loyola (12-4) advances to the NCAA quarterfinals where they will play the winner of Sunday’s game between top-seeded Penn State and UMBC.
