Emotions will run high this Sunday in Sayre.
The first ever Northern Tier Wrestling (NTW) Nikki Baker Memorial show will be held in Sayre at the VFW Post 1536 on Lockhart Street. Doors open at 2 p.m. with action starting at 3 p.m. Baker was a mainstay and big supporter for NTW since its inception nearly two years ago. Sadly, Baker died in December after battling an unknown illness.
Sunday’s show marks a collaborative effort with some of the best indy wrestling talent around. Elmira’s own Rob Cook, Sayre native Pat Sawyer, Binghamton talent Sean Carr and more will rock the house on the card. Headliners will be Brian Pillman Jr. the son of the late-great Brian Pillman, and HC Loc, the ECW and Ring of Honor veteran who was born in Elmira.
General admission for tickets is just $15 and $20 for the first row. Along with the wrestling action, there will be live music and a special craft show attraction to help with fundraising efforts.
On Thursday, 18 Sports had the opportunity to discuss the big event and the impact it aims to make. An impact in memory of one of their own, Nikki Baker. A friend that will never be forgotten.
