Standout gets major honor

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - Odessa native Stef Collins continues to add to her long list of accolades.

Collins, a 2001 grad of Odessa-Montour high school, a team she led to a state title, made the All-British team for The British Women's Basketball League on Monday. The 2012 Olympian, and player/coach for the Cardiff Met Archers, helped pace an attack which saw her team make the league playoffs.

The Great Britain legend was 39% from behind the arc and had 11.7 points per game in the WBBL Championship. Collins also racked up 6.5 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game this season.

Collins joins Navy men's lacrosse coach Rick Sowell, and local coaching legend and former Elmira Pioneers manager during the Red Sox era, Bill Limoncelli, as special guests at The 2nd Annual Twin Tiers Sports Awards on Tuesday, June 26th at 6 pm at Corning high school's auditorium.

Tickets are available now for just $5 at the Horseheads Beverage Center, Brautigan Allstate Insurance at The Arnot Mall and the Corning high school athletic office located at the school's administration building.
