The top-seeded Penn State men’s lacrosse team lost to fifth-seeded Yale 21-17 in the NCAA Semifinals on Saturday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
The defending national champion Bulldogs got off to a fast start and jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first quarter.
The Nittany Lions were able to rally back and make it a 12-9 game at halftime.
Yale stayed out in front in the second half to advance to the NCAA championship game for the second straight season.
Matt Brandau had seven goals and an assist for Yale.
Dylan Foulds scored five goals for the Nittany Lions.
Penn State made it to the Final Four for the first time in program history and finish the season at 16-2.
Yale will play third-seeded Virginia in the NCAA championship game on Monday.
