Pioneers Host Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team won 11-5

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - The Elmira Pioneers hosted the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team in an exhibition softball game at Dunn Field on Saturday.

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team won the game 11-5 in front of a solid crowd at Dunn Field despite the rain.

The Pioneers were honored to be able to host this special event.

" It's an absolute honor and a privilege, especially these guys willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and just to let them have some fun for a little while and we can be a part of that is something really special" said Pioneers outfielder Brendon Conley. 

The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team is a charitable organization whose mission is to inspire and educate others while enhancing the health and welfare of wounded warrior amputees.
