ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - The Elmira Pioneers defeated the Jamestown Jammers 12-3 in their season opener at a packed Dunn Field on Saturday.
With the game tied at one in the third inning, the Pioneers scored four runs in the inning.
Craig Corliss hit a two-run double to right center to put Elmira up 5-1 in the third.
Tom Henderson went 3-for-5 and hit a home run, scored three runs and had two RBI's for the Pioneers.
Corning grad Danny Madden made the start for the Pioneers and pitched four innings and allowed two unearned runs while striking out six.
