ENDICOTT, N.Y. (WETM)- Debuting in July 2007, The Dick’s Sporting Goods Open is a PGA Tour Champions event supplanting the B.C. Open.

The B.C. Open is a former PGA Tour event from 1971 through 2006.

Horseheads native Joey Sindelar was a part of the many big name pro golfers who tee’d off today down in Endicott.

Some big names were on the golf course this year including the return of Fred Couples after 24 years. Couples is who ended up tied in 25th with Sindelar and he ended his day -2 par.

Crowd favorite Jon Daly also was out on the course today. Daly had a slow start to his weekend as he ended up only going -1 par on the day and placed tied for 35th place.

Doug Barron and Miguel Angel Jimenez are tied for the lead at -7.

More golf is still to come at the Dick’s Open at the En-Joie Golf Club.
