Horseheads Sammie Gehl is running with a purpose. The recent Horseheads High School graduate will take her talents to St. John Fisher next year as an amputee runner. 

After being struck with bone cancer at age 15, Gehl had her leg amputated. Her drive and her passion to succeed is helping her overcome the biggest obstacle of her life. All the while, motivating and inspiring an entire community. She hopes to run again soon at college and beyond.
