Seneca Indians Debut New Turf Field with Win

The Indians defeat Moravia at home 51-6

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - The Seneca Indians defeated the Moravia Blue Devils 51-6 at home on Saturday night on the debut of their new artificial turf field.

The Indians jumped out to a 19-0 lead in the first quarter on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Derrick Lewis to Joe Chedzoy.

Casen Weeden scored on a 3-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to put the Indians in front 26-0.

The Seneca Indians host Dryden on Friday at 7:00 pm in their final game of the regular season.

The Watkins Glen School District held a ribbon cutting earlier in the day to mark the completion of improved athletic facilities.

Major improvements include artificial turf on the stadium field, improved drainage, new fencing and a new scoreboard.

Additional improvements include more lighting for pedestrians, a new tennis court area with five courts available and new fencing.
