Twin Tiers Minor League Baseball Player Updates

Sam Lewis placed on 7-day DL

ELMIRA, N.Y. (18 SPORTS) - A look at the three minor league baseball players in their respective farm systems from the Twin Tiers. 

Horseheads native Sam Lewis was hit with some tough news last week. Lewis, a pitcher for the Jackson Generals, the Class AA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, was placed on the 7-day disabled list on June 7th. Lewis' injury was not disclosed. 

On the year, Lewis is (3-4) and has 37 strikeouts in 44.1 innings of work. In the minors since 2012, Lewis missed the entire 2015 season due to Tommy John surgery. 

Fellow Horseheads native Dylan Manwaring is now a part of the San Jose Giants infielder, the advanced Class A team of the San Francisco Giants. In three games this season, Manwaring has three hits and is batting .429. 

Corning native Zach Sullivan is a left fielder for the Jupiter Hammerheads, the Class A advanced team of the Miami Marlins. Sullivan went hitless last night, but is batting .208 on the season with two home runs and 14 RBI on the season.
