Des Moines, IA (WETM) – Elmira native Molly Huddle continues to shine in track and field.
Huddle won the 10,000-meter race after surging ahead from third place in the final laps Thursday night at Drake University at the 2019 USATF Outdoor Championships. It was Huddle’s staggering fifth consecutive 10K win with a time of 31:58.47 to secure the victory.
Emily Sisson finished in second place with a time of 32:02.19 and Kellyn Taylor placed third with a time of 32:02.74.
Huddle, an Olympic hopeful, set the United States record in the 2016 games with a time of 30:13.17. The Elmira Notre Dame and University of Notre Dame grad will keep pursuing her running career on the national and world stage.
