Muncy Hangs on to Defeat Canton in District Finals


The top-seeded Canton Warriors football team lost at home to the second-seeded Muncy Indians 9-7 on Saturday in the District IV Class A finals.

Muncy led 9-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Canton quarterback Uriah Baillie completed a long pass to Dennis Saar all the way down to the Muncy two-yard line.

A two-yard touchdown run by Levi Gaiotti on the next play cut the Muncy lead to 9-7.

Christian Good had an interception late in the fourth quarter for the Indians to keep Muncy in front as they went on to win a district title.

Canton finishes the season with a record of 10-2.
