A Friday night preview of game three of the FHL Commissioner’s Cup.

The Elmira Enforcers backs are against the wall. Facing elimination, Elmira trails in the finals (2-0) to heavily favored Carolina. After a heated game two, a contest that saw Elmira blow a 3-0 lead in a 4-3 overtime loss, the Enforcers are in a must-win situation.

Friday night could be the spark they need when the series comes to Elmira’s First Arena. Opening puck drops at 7:05 pm and if the Enforcers can get a much-needed victory, game two will be at First Arena on Saturday night at the same time. But, the team must try to win without some of its biggest names.

Captain Ahmed Mafouz is suspended by the FHL for one game and will return Saturday with a win on Friday. Goalie Troy Passingham is out two games and head coach Brent Clarke is out for a total of five games-a suspension that will carry over into next season.

All suspensions are related to Saturday’s post-game actions in Carolina. The Enforcers tried to contest the game-winning goal by the Thunderbirds, but FHL officials ruled that the goal would stand.
