Penn State Football Primed For Title

Sports
The Penn State football program is coming off one of its best years in recent memory.

Led by Heisman Trophy hopeful junior running back Saquon Barkley, Penn State is primed to reach great heights this season, including getting a shot to win a national championship. Penn State finished the year (11-3) and won the Big Ten Conference. The Nittany Lions lost a close game in the Rose Bowl, 52-49, but have more than enough firepower to reach for something bigger this year.

Barkley, who’s considered the top running back in the country by many experts, scored 18 touchdowns and racked up 1,496 yards on the ground. He earned All-Big Ten first team honors, and captured the Big Ten Offensive Player of The Year award. Barkley will be a focal point for Penn State in their quest to win a national crown.

The first game of the season for Penn State is just a few short weeks away when Akron comes to town on September 2nd. The Zips have Spencer-Van Etten graduate, Hayden Grover, on the team at long snapper. A full 2017 schedule of Penn State football is listed below:
