The Sayre Lady Redskins basketball team raised more than $3,500 from the team’s annual Rally for the Cure/Pink Out Game to support Guthrie’s Breast Care Fund.

The fund supports local women who are either uninsured or under-insured receive diagnostic tests and necessary subsequent treatment for breast cancer.

“The focus of the Breast Care Fund is not cancer- it’s survivorship,” said Coach Eileen Sparduti. “Our donation connects us to a community of women who are also fighters – engaged in a battle with much higher stakes than a win or loss in a season record.  It provides a ‘bigger picture’ perspective to what we are about”.

Since its inception in 2012, the Rally for the Cure/Pink Out Game has raised over $25,600 for Guthrie’s Breast Care Fund.
