Inside the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome, the Syracuse University men’s basketball team breezed past Boston University 99-77.
After being held to 60 or fewer points in three of their last four games, the Orange returned home to hit 14 three-pointers against the Terriers.
SU would trail 20-12 early, but the Orange regrouped taking a 45-39 lead into the half.
Syracuse opened the second half on a 19-5 run, led by Taurean Thompson.
Thompson scored 9 points during the opening five minutes of the second half.
The freshman would finish with a career high 22 points.
Syracuse had four players in double figures.
John Gillon — who had been held scoreless over the last two games — broke out with 23 points against BU.
The win improves Syracuse to 6-3 overall, and a perfect 6-0 at home this season.
Next up for SU is rival Georgetown on Saturday, December 17th at the Carrier Dome.
